On Tuesday March 2nd at 7 PM, Eric C. Shiner, The Milton Fine Curator of Art at the Andy Warhol Museum will present a lecture entitled, Andy Warhol: Consumption x Production. Mr. Shiner’s presentation is part of the Content and Form Art History Lecture Series at the Bass Museum of Art in Miami Beach. Admission for the lecture is $5 for museum members, and $10 for non-members. Pre-registration is recommended. To register call 305.673.753.

Eric C. Shiner is the Milton Fine Curator of Art at The Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh. His scholarly focus is on the concept of bodily transformation in postwar Japanese photography, painting and performance art. Shiner was an assistant curator of the Yokohama Triennale 2001, Japan’s first ever large-scale exhibition of international contemporary art, and the curator of "Making a Home: Japanese Contemporary Artists in New York" at Japan Society in 2007. He is an active writer and translator, a contributing editor for Art Asia Pacific magazine, and an adjunct professor of art history at the University of Pittsburgh.

Concert – Fascinatin’ Rhythms


In his program, Fascinatin’ Rhythms, New York pianist Alex Wu spotlights the music of George Gershwin (Rhapsody in Blue, songs, Porgy & Bess) and other influential 20th Century composers from Latin America/Carribean, Spain and the US. Wu bridges classical music with jazz, folk, dance and popular music creating a fresh sound, style and rhythm.

Composers: Gershwin, Piazzolla, Bowles, Brubeck, Albeniz
and more.

Alexander A. Wu has performed concerts throughout the United States and abroad. In addition, he has been a featured artist numerous times on television and radio. He has also collaborated both as a soloist with orchestras and with many distinguished artists in the classical, contemporary, Latin American and jazz worlds.
