ADVENTURES IN HAITI:
FAMILY FUN DAY AT THE BASS MUSEUM OF ART Saturday, July 8, 2006 12:00-4:00PM FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC MIAMI BEACH, FL - (June 26, 2006) - In conjunction with The Haitian Spirit, the Bass Museum of Art and the Haitian Cultural Arts Alliance present Tropical Adventures in Haiti: Family Fun Day at the Bass Museum of Art, an afternoon comprised of exciting programming for all families. The day will be filled with food, music, arts and crafts workshops, scavenger hunts, snow cones, dancing and storytelling. Live musical performances by Lucky Pierre, the Band will be featured, that combine the sounds of contemporary jazz with the Caribbean rhythms of reggae, soca and troubadour, that will move the feet of children and adults alike. The creative art workshop will be lead by a local art instructor who will guide children in making an original work of art inspired by the rich colorful cultures of the Caribbean as seen in the Bass Museum Haitian exhibitions. A dance and drumming performance and workshop will be lead by Vitalio Jeune, a professional Haitian dancer currently conducting workshops at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, a renowned school of dance in New York. The afternoon promises to be a fun-filled experience for children and their parents.
