MARIA MAGDALENA CAMPOS-PONS:
EVERYTHING IS SEPARATED BY WATER -VIP Opening Reception- Thursday, September 20, 2007 Miami Beach - (September 24, 2007) - Over 300 people attended the VIP opening reception at the Bass Museum for Maria Magdalena Campos-Pons: Everything is Separated by Water on the evening of September 20. Delicious cocktails were provided by El Dorado Rum and Finlandia, courtesy of AMC Liaisons. A three-piece band played lively Cuban music in the Pancoast Gallery while guests sampled specialty cocktails and delicious hors d’oeuvres in the Lydia and Burton Harrison Cafe. Guests viewed the spectacular photographs and large-scale installations in the new wing’s upstairs galleries and also enjoyed a live performance by the artist Dry Eyes/ Wet Feet - Ojos Secos/Pies Mojados. Afterwards, guests were invited to collaborate on a wall installation by affixing pieces of long blue fabric to form a collage that is ongoing throughout the course of the exhibition. Maria Magdalena Campos-Pons: Everything is Separated by Water is organized by the Indianapolis Museum of Art with support from the Andy Warhol foundation for the Visual Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.
