Preserving the Modern:
Building and Landscape Preservation in Miami - A Contemporary Agenda January 25 & January 26, 2008 MIAMI BEACH, FL - (February 1, 2008) - The Bass Museum of Art partnered with the University of Florida School of Architecture and DoCoMoMo Florida to address Historic Preservation that is a dynamic and growing field in South Florida. The issues discussed where how we identify historic resources, whether landscapes are an integral component of historic preservation, and how historic preservation and urban design intersect. The first portion of the conference took place on Friday, January 25. The keynote speaker was Charles Gwathmey, Architect, Yale School of Architecture renovation who discussed "Architecture as Continuum."
