The first part of the day families enjoyed a free fun-filled afternoon of educational activities, lively music and games. Kids took part in arts and crafts activities such as "transparent light box" collages, and creating "soft nest boxes" for baby rocks. The fabulous Russian balloon artist Irina created balloon characters for the children.

Later in the afternoon the concert HOLIDAY SONGS AND CAROLS AROUND THE WORLD: A COLLECTION OF INTERNATIONAL HOLIDAY SONGS ADAPTED FOR CLASSICAL PIANO was presented in the Taplin Gallery.This program , performed by Cuban pianist and composer Tony Sala, presented an inspiring collection of European, American and Latin American Carols and other holiday songs. From a Gregorian chant to carols by contemporary composers, the classical interpretation of this eclectic collection of international carols wowed the crowd in preparation for the holiday season.
