Opening Reception
The Endless Renaissance
and
IN YOUR OWN IMAGE: Bert Rodriguez Greatest Hits Vol. 1

Thursday, April 16th, 2009

MIAMI BEACH, FL - (April 17, 2009) - The Bass Museum of Art and Miami Modern Luxury Magazine partnered to present Bass members with a first viewing of two very different and dynamic shows at the Bass Museum on the evening of April 16.

The Endless Renaissance, curated by Steven Holmes illustrates that all art, regardless of when it was created, is contemporary because it reflects a precise moment in time and communicates the issues surrounding the artists, whether spiritual, political, economic or cultural. Holmes led a thought-provoking private tour for upper level members before the general reception.

Special guests were also the first to see the conceptual works of Bert Rodriguez, who explores the relationship between art and the artist, while examining personal value systems of the viewer. During the reception Rodriguez performed "What a Tree Feels Like." Buried in Collins Park from the neck down, Rodriguez greeted and chatted with curious guests throughout the course of the evening.

Beverages were generously provided by Campari and Grolsch.

The Endless Renaissance is on view through August 16, 2009.
IN YOUR OWN IMAGE: The Best of Bert Rodriguez-Greatest HIts Vol. 1
is on view through June 14, 2009.
