Over 200 guests attended the first Curator Culture at the Bass Museum of Art on October 18, 2013. The event, presented by Sotheby’s with additional support from Cultured Magazine, invited several curators from Miami’s major art institutions, many of whom are relatively new to Miami, to discuss the curators’ current interests, their roles within their institutions and how their practice is affected by being in Miami. The discussion was moderated by Silvia Karman Cubiña, Executive Director and Chief Curator of the Bass Museum of Art. Future talks in the Curator Culture series will bring curators from around the world to engage with Miami’s art community.
