february 12 | 2 – 4pm | 5 – 11 yr olds
You and your child will work as a team to solve a design challenge inspired by works of art from the museum’s permanent collection. Learn how to paint, draw, construct and take photographs from experienced art teachers.
Today’s IDEA@thebass Inventive Art Class is Art inspired from the Caribbean: exploring Haitian metal-art sculpture in the newly opened Lindemann Family Creativity Center.
Inspiration from great myth and folklore, the Caribbean has always been filled with tales. While looking at the metal sculptures made by Haitian artists, explore the narrative and invent your own metal sculpture using tooling foil, your hands and scissors. This is sure to make a beautiful, interesting wall relief sculpture! All children must be accompanied by an adult.
